They invite 72 teams and many are well known and ranked. This does not mean they don't bring in other teams however.

My son's team finished fourth a few years ago and it was put together more or less for this, and a few other high profile events. The coach went to great lengths to show who he had on the roster and show that the team had many of the top kids from the reqion we were coming from. He also had some references from pro scouts. He was organized and presented a good case.

BTW we spanked a number of the "academy" teams on the way to the final 4 games. We were good however and probably 1/2 of that team will be playing D1 baseball somewhere next year.

So if you can bring a solid team and back it up you can get in.
We have a group of 15 year olds we are bringing I suppose in anticipation of bringing them again when they are 16. Our club is a reputable Texas club...I was just interested in the dynamics of being invited and the makeup of most of the teams. If the teams were "thrown" together for just this purpose or if they were just your standard team that applied for entry. I guess I dont understand how some of these teams can be ranked if the team has basically just been created.

Appreciate the input!!
Many are academy teams and others are teams that field teams yearly, and a few like ours put together for the tournament. If you have an established team in Texas then you should be fine. Put a simple resume of the team together when you contact them. You will see teams come with younger kids like you are planning to get the experience and then full 16U teams looking to go deep and make a run at it. No question you will see most of the top 16U kids in the country there, some really impressive looking kids!
