The Michigan Moose, a brand-new 18u travel baseball team, are proud to announce the dates and locations of their try-outs.

The try-outs will be held at Founder’s Sports Park in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Founder’s Sports Park is located at:

35511 W. Eight Mile Rd.
Farmington Hills, MI 48331

The try-outs will be held at Founder’s on the following dates:

Wednesday, September 19 @ 5:30 PM
Thursday, September 20 @ 5:30 PM
Sunday, September 23 @ 5:30 PM

These try-outs are open to all interested baseball players that were born on or after May 1, 1989. All players that meet the age requirement and are interested in joining the team are encouraged to attend. There is no fee to try-out. Players are asked to arrive at the try-outs 20-30 minutes before the scheduled start time in order to properly register and warm-up.

All pitchers will be clocked on a radar gun.

The Moose will be playing a very competitive schedule over the course of the 2008 summer season. This schedule will include highly competitive tournaments, league play, and non-league games.

The Moose will be coached by Dylan Putnam (amongst others).

Coach Putnam’s background in baseball includes the following:
· Three years of Division I head coaching experience at Oakland University.
· Two years of Division I assistant coaching experience at Michigan State University. He was the Spartans’ pitching coach, recruiting coordinator, and academic liaison. In addition to his time with the Spartans, Coach Putnam also had a five-year stint as a volunteer assistant coach with the Ann Arbor Braves.
· Played for the Washington Wild Things for one season in the Frontier Independent League.
· Played in the Cape Cod Collegiate Baseball League for one season.
· Played Division I baseball at Tulane and at Michigan State.
· In 1991, became one of the co-founders of the Ann Arbor Braves summer baseball program.
· Selected in the 1997 MLB Draft by the Oakland Athletics and in the 2001 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees.
· Had a total of 10 athletes move on to play professional baseball in the last five years.
· His younger brother, Zach, was named Mr. Baseball in the state of Michigan in 2005 and went on to become the first player to be named First-team All-Big Ten as a pitcher and as a position-player. Zach currently plays for the University of Michigan.
· Former member of the Conference USA All-Freshman team.

The Moose are looking forward to playing against top-notch competition while providing it as well.
