It will blow you away the level of play and the level of scouts from college and pro especially at the East Cobb complex. Make sure you take a GPS. The fields are spread over a 20 mile area. Most are great fields. The lodging issue is wide and varied. I believe the lodging issue is determined by what you are wanting out of your experience. There are very cheap places and then there is the top of the line. Again, you will be only playing one game a day so staying near the fields is not a big issue. Make sure you take in the experience at the East Cobb fields when some of the big dogs are playing so you can see what the recruiting process is about. We will be there for the third year so if you have specific questions, please feel free to ask or pm.
Thanks, my son is so looking forward to playing against some serious competition. This is his first year of travel/showcase ball and he is loving every minute. Only 9 days before they catch the bus for the 15 hour ride! We are still debating, since we are going to TN for Sandlot on July 14-18th....this is getting expensive!Good Luck to you guys as well, as long as it's not against us. Big Grin

From someone who is from around here....

Just south a couple of exits on 575 is Barrett Pkwy. It has plenty of resturants, a large mall, cold sports resturants, and even a Dicks sporting goods should you need any basball related equipment.

And for what it's worth, I can't remember a time that it has been THIS stinking hot AND muggy at the same time so late in the day. We played a summer collegiate game friday night and I thought I was going to fall out of my chair! No kidding.

If you don't already know this trick, try this moms and dads to help keep your son cool during the game. Get a small cooler, fill it up at least 3/4 with ice and water only. Buy some ammonia (liquid) and pour a cap full into the ice water. It will make the ice water chilled and keep it that way throughout the game. Put in a washcloth so he can keep it in the cooler to wipe off between innings and put on his neck to cool down. It might be a good idea to take a marker and write on the cooler "DO NOT DRINK", etc.

You can buy the ammonia at a grocery store or Wal-Mart usually in the cleaning supplies area.

I keep one by my chair as well. I just forgot to on friday nite!

Is it wise to bring down one of the canopy tents for shade? I heard not much for shade at the fields? I don't really want to drag that down, but if I must....thanks for the help with restaurants and Dick's sporting goods...kills me about how many bats we could potentially go thru...by any chance can my son use a DeMarini composite? or they have to be non-composite? Thanks again...counting down the days.
Well, since it's a WWBA you're playing in it is wood bat only Im afraid.

You'll most likely only play 1 game at the actual EC complex which the stands are covered with a canopy.

But I would recommend bringing a canopy tent so you'll have for all the other fields you'll be playing on, i.e. local high schools and colleges.

Since you have a ways to travel, I'd suggest leaving the one you have at home and picking up a new one at Dick's.
