Brian Johnson of Florida hits the first ever Non-HR in the new park.

They have already said this park is going to be a field that HR's won't fly out easy. So as many of you have noticed watching the Florida/Texas game, they have installed that short metal fence just past the outfield wall with a metal platform between the wall and the fence not allowing any balls to clearly go over the wall. The ball bounced back into play and Johnson was given a double.

Robbed.

How many more players will get robbed by this poor design?

I agree in a championship series, it should be allowed.

If that had come back to haunt Florida or any other team, that would have been a shame. I am sure that Sully used this as a teaching moment, let's show them and finish it off!

The Vandy and Florida match up is going to be some game, close friends playing the same type of game.

I think my friend from the Rose City has the right solution...
"Just attach some kind of plating to the front of that short fence that will make a huge noise when a ball hits it."

I've been scouting out the solution all night and I've finally found it...

You take this kid's plate, or a whole series of them, and stand them up along that short steel fence. Make sure they all face the field. Leave a little food on each plate. Any little morsel. Even ketchup, mustard, sweet n' sour, or creamy ranch will do. I guarantee that if anything messes with that plate the entire park will know. That kid'll make a huge noise when a ball hits it.

And the ball? Forget about it. Any food residue on it and he ain't giving it back!

Well, I guess I could have named this particular post "1st flaw discovered at TD AmeriTrade Park that is similar to MOST professional stadiums".

But since it just so happen to rob a Florida player from a HR, the first ever in this particular NEW stadium, I thought it thought-provoking to discuss THIS field at that time.

My bad.

I love the Cal announcer, he gets my vote and where is Erin? I mean come on, it's not the same without her.
Frown
I think Omaha makes her nervous, and I bet Jen Brown has her peep hole covered. Red Face
