Both questions fed book.
#1 R3 W/ left-handed pitcher
Pitcher jump turns to third without a throw. Balk was called. I argued that 1B is the only base required to make a throw. Also I reminded them that the rules are the same for both right and left handed pitchers. They acknowledged that a righty was not required to throw but told me a lefty was. Am I wrong?

#2 R1, R2, & R3 W/ pitcher in the wind-up. Pitcher on rubber taking signs with hands seperated and at his sides. Pitcher brings his hands together. Runner attempts to steal home. Pitcher steps off the rubber with correct foot and throws home. I argued that bringing his hands together initiated his wind-up and by bringing his hands together he was required to deliver a pitch. Was I wrong?
(Our runner scored so no harm but trail runners did not advance.)
