in a game a batter hits line drive off of the rubber on the pitchers mound and the ball hits it hard and shoots into foul territory. Is this a fair ball? Reason I ask is because I was taking BP from an ex-pro way back when I was in Little League and this happened and If I'm not mistaken I think he said that would be considered a fair ball in a game. Is this correct? I'll probably never see this happen during a game or BP session ever again but was just curious.

Second Question....

In a game batter hits a hard line drive off of first base bag and the ball after hitting the bag shoots fould and rolls into the dugout/out of play. What would be the call here? I was guessing that this would be a ground rule double being that it is a fair ball and by going out of play the runner would also get second base on this hit? Is this correct?

Thank you. I know these are probably ridiculous questions.
