The Tennesssee Smokies (AA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks) will host the 2nd Annual Tennessee Smokies High School Baseball Showcase for 2007 and 2008 high school baseball players on July 28-29, 2006. The showcase will take place at Smokies Park in Sevierville, TN and was scouted by over 30 college coaches and professional scouts last year. The showcase fills up quickly because it is limited to 136 players only on a first come first serve bases.

My 2013 just received an invite to this camp which suggests it is tied in with the Cubs AA affiliate.

We are a little suspicious of the $nature$ of the camp. The brochure mentions all of the scouts that will be in attendance and the colleges that plan to attend. The letter also mentions that our 2013 was recommended by a coach or scout. Those buzzwords always raises RED FLAGS with us.

Does anyone have direct knowledge of this camp and the quality of athletes in attendance?

Thanks!
