A great weekend in Battle Creek

Almost a Sparks vs. Sparks championship game but just wasnt meant to be ....oh so close

I have not been on this site in about a year. But, I had to log on and wish congratulations to the Sparks and make us all proud in Farmington. It is a blast. Everyone in Illinois will be cheering you on.

Out in Farmington NM in Game three of the Connie Mack World Series the Illinois Sparks have Just upset the defending Champions East Cobb Yankees 2-0

Mount Carmels Kevin Johnson goes the distance to beat a very good hitting team.
Jo Jo Maldonado , (Oak Park River Forest HS)was excellent defensively at 2b and had a knock.

Hard to beleive it was 27 years ago 1982 that I was blessed to take that same parks mound against the same team the guys are playing tonight...
Midland had Larkin at the time. Joliet 3-1 winners in semis. We actually won it on a John Papierski walk off home run. All the Joliet peeps should know that name. Good Joliet baseball family.
