Hey guys, thought I'd give my two cents again this year with some preseason rankings. After all, what is a high school baseball season without preseason rankings? This Top 15 is based off what I've been hearing and a few websites that have already complied "lookout" lists.

If my memory serves me correctly, games start up this week in our great state. Without further do, the rankings:

1. Downers Grove South — Burdi, Wivinis anchor a team with a few D1 players.
2. Providence Catholic — Consensus No. 1 most places, lots of talent.
3. Harrisburg — Lots of athleticism, sure favorite in 2A.
4. New Trier — Coach Napoleon. Charlie Tillison. That's all that needs to be said.
5. Lemont — SS Goergen leads the charge.
6. St. Laurence — Illinois-bound Naso and Kyle Wood (Pudrue) have huge impact on the mound.
7. Nazareth Academy — Might not have great amount of D1's, but lot's of guys still playing collegiately next year.
8. Mount Carmel — Boehm and Sujka are the go-to guys.
9. Rock Falls — Jake Junis with a lot experience heading into his senior year.
10. Downers Grove North — The North-South matchup is going to be a fun one this season.
11. Ottawa Marquette — Pitchers Ceja and Snyder potential draft picks this June.
12. St. Charles East — Coming off a good season under a new coach. Lhp Benjamin leads pitching staff.
13. Brother Rice — It's Ryan Koziol's turn now.
14. Cary-Grove — D1 recruits Vilardo and Panek lead relatively young team.
15. Naperville Central — Defending 4A champs return some pieces.
