Outlook: Seven returning seniors should help the Chargers improve on last year’s seventh-place district finish. Morgan, a UNC–Chapel Hill commit and Barlow, who will play at Mary Washington, are key cogs at the plate and in the field.

Outlook: After replacing six starters last season, the Cougars figure to be better in Sumler’s second year as coach. Neal and Smith, their top two pitchers, should play big roles.

Outlook: The Cyclones rate as one of the early district favorites thanks to a talented lineup that features 10 returnees, including all-Region I performers Pittman and Yates. Stead is a battler on the mound.

Doesn't mother nature know its baseball season, can we get some dry days to actually be on a field for a couple of days at a time..

 I hear ya Zeus.  I'm more than ready for spring/summer weather.  The weather was actually nice last Saturday when we went to see our son play (DII JUCO) - 70 F and sunny.

Back in February we sat through the coldest baseball games I ever experienced.  35 F weather and snow flurries.  Spent a week trying to get warmed back up.

Today's game location between Chancellor and Washington & Lee has been moved to Loriella Park in Spotsylvania.

VHSL should have an additonal slaughter rule to prevent this.  Maybe after 2 or 3 innings, lead by X amount runs, etc.   I do feel for the JM players.   I really need some baseball therapy, this snow is bringing me down. 

Agree.  Maybe a 8 run lead after 4 innings?  Any other thoughts?  I dunno. 

NJCAA has multiple slaughter apps - 10 runs after 5 innings and 8 runs after 7 innings.  But that would not have helped in this case.  EV scored 14 runs in the 1st inning alone.

I honestly thought JM might have turned the corner after winning at least one game last year.  Guess not.

Chancellor did the same thing to a nova school in 2010. only they scored over 40. was not fun to watch. Same thing starters out after 1. just kepy hitting. I agree, an earlier slaughter rule needs to be in effect. no fun on either end.

yeah snow came but then melted, now just wet.  BLAH, all this bad weather needs to get out of the way and we get on with the season. 

I hear ya.  Areas west of I-95 have received a lot more snow than locations east of I-95.  Our JV played last night.  I saw the lights on as I passed by.  I'm more than ready for warmer weather.
