Definitely George Clinton funky!

Seriously, it doesn't feel like any other bat when you grab it by the barrel and bang the knob on a solid surface (like home plate). Maybe it's the extended end cap? But, there's definitely reverberation that can be felt and sounds a spring being sprung in a cartoon.

Unless there's just something wrong with the one we have?

I don’t have a BBCOR Velo but I do have a drop 5 with the same extended end cap.  I just went out and tested it vs. a drop 5 Cat 7. The Velo sounded like plucking a guitar string and the Cat 7 just made a predictable dull thud.

Who cares what it sounds like when you bang the knob on the ground, does it hit the ball well?!   Pretty is as pretty does.
