North Texas Power
2nd Chance High School Baseball Opportunity

The North Texas Titans are looking for high school baseball players to form high school level teams to work on development and play a 15-20 game schedule this spring, 2012. If you are interested in developing your baseball skills, playing a competitive high school schedule, and continuing to play when circumstances may have left you out of your high school program; please contact us for a "2nd Chance" opportunity to play!

CONCEPT
To build a baseball organization that is available to players that have been cut from their high school teams and/or their schools do not provide baseball programs. Many good ball players are left behind each year from schools that could be playing if they were given that "Longer Look" or "2nd Chance" during tryouts. By forming teams, these players can greatly benefit from practicing regularly and playing a game schedule against area schools. "2nd Chance" players would have the opportunity to develop and apply their skills to increase their chances of making their school teams in the future.

MISSION
To offer more opportunities to more baseball players to learn, develop, and apply skills, determination, and desire on the playing field as well as to create a competitive environment that replicates a high school program/season in an effort to pass on the true essence of the great game of baseball.

ROSTER
The team will consist of committed players who are dedicated and determined to continue pursuing their dreams of playing the great game of baseball. The goal is to field teams of high school players that will practice regularly , work on speed and agility drills, and strength and conditioning in order to become a better athlete.

SEASON FORMAT
Players will play by High School Baseball rules. All lineups, substitution rules, and uniform policies follow exact High School baseball rules. The spring will consist of a 15-20 game schedule against private schools and home school teams.

2nd Chance Baseball Player Eligibility Requirements
2nd Chance Baseball is an independent baseball organization that prides itself on teaching the game of baseball through dedication, professionalism, and experience. Our main goal is to instill in our players the commitment and desire to continue working and growing their skills in an effort to one day make their High School team and/or continue playing at the Collegiate level. We enourage our players to continue developing their skills at the highest level they possibly can, continue playing the game, and continue striving every January to make their High School squad. The purpose of the Player Eligibility Requirements is to maintain good credibility and good relationships with area High School Coaches as well as to ensure the integrity of our mission of providing an additional opportunity for players to improve their baseball knowledge and skills to the level needed to hopefully make their High School team.

Starting in 2012, All players must be of High School classification AND must fall under one of the following categories:

Category 1: High School Baseball Program Not Offered
Player goes to a High School that does not offer a baseball program

Category 2: Cut Player
Player tries out for his High School program and gets cut

Category 3: Untimely Injury
Special circumstance for a player that does not tryout with his High School
Program would be that he was recovering from an injury that prevented him from trying out but he would be healthy in time to play in the spring season.

Houston Power offers the same thing in the Houston area. I would guess there is a similar program in Austin and San Antonio.

Daddy ball it is not.

While the price seems a little on the high side at first glance it is not much more than our school's pay to play fee, uniforms, cleats, helmets, fees, etc when totaled up.
This sounds like a great idea. I especially like the fact that you plan to work with the high schools rather than against them.

Given enough time, you will probably run across a gigantic success story or two or maybe even more.

Do you have any way of helping kids who have the desire, but can't afford it? I doubt it would break any rules because you're definitely not using players based on their talent level.

Best of luck, I think they should have a program like this everywhere.
