I always say that I play catcher and secondary is infield. Well, I never really played infield in a long time, and I was taking shortstop for batting practice, and I got in front of everyone but alwys pulled my head up, even on the ones that I fielded cleanly (which to me isn't clean). I don't want to play ONLY one position. What can I do to be able to down (and stay down) on ground balls again? Please help. Thanks.

What I do to make I'm right is have another player stand in front of me about the same distance as when you start warming up and bite the bill of the hat in my mouth then have them throw you the groundball. It forces you to look down at the ball to field it properly. Heck do it without a glove to get better hands too. I hope this is what you were looking for.
just keep your eyes glued to the ball the whole way in, and if it looks like your gonna get a short hop, then either charge it or back up and into your throwing position, so u can get the big hop or get it while it is on the ground.

note: if u do go back into ur throwing position, make sure you move your feet and use your normal throwing motion so u can get a good strong throw to first
