3 05's make big impact | High School Baseball Web

Had fun this season following the 05 kids I knew and knew of. Many got lots of playing time as freshman and quite a few did real well.

The 3 I thought that stood out were pitchers Dave Cales (Mizzou), Ethan Hollingsworth (W. Michigan) and Chris Friedrich (Eastern Kentucky). Cales was dominant out of the pen. Hollingsworth was one of the top starters in the MAC, and Friedrich put up little league numbers all season as a starter.

Guessing all 3 are Freshman All-America. Best of luck to them and all our Illinois kids going forward. Great to see them making an impact around the country.

Add Rick Zagone to that list also from Mizzou. After injuries he became the third starter and had a very good year for a freshman in the big 12.

and...Puullleeese don't forget Dan Brewer of LT and Bradly.

Dan and Ethan will be playing for the DuPage Dragon's of the CICL. The Dragon's opening night (June 8th) will feature yet another solid 05er, Ian Berger on the bump.

Joe Froelich (05) of OPRF and Coastal Carolina will pitch for the Springfield Rifles.

Any word on where Berger will be going to school in the fall? Word on Redbirdfan.com is he asked for his release from ISU.
