We're going to three showcase events this summer. One at College of Charleston, one at University of South Carolina and a wood bat at Wake Forest. Does anyone know anything about these events? Anything I should look for or look to do? Not a huge deal as son is a 15 yr old rising sophmore, but just wondering if anyone knows anything about these events. Thanks.

Just to follow up on this. Went to the first one of these this past weekend. Events were not put on by the colleges listed. They were put on by a team. There were some scouts there, however, not many.

First game there were 3 or 4 scouts there that I saw. Stayed the whole game. Fortunately, my son pitched that game. He went a complete game, 7 innings, 75 pitches, 3 hits, 0 BB's, shoutout. Had a pretty good outing.

Second game, there was one guy there, left after the 1st inning.

Third game, no one.

Fourth game, there were a couple of guys there, but the game got rained out after the 1st 1/2 inning.

Basically, the games were just held at the college campus and the school had nothing to do with it other than providing the fields. This one was at Univ. of South Carolina. There was a USC scout there. Next week is at College of Charleston, same team hosting.

Not sure what the event at Wake Forest is about.

Anyway, they are a "sort" of showcase event, but not anything I would really write home about.
