It was a great game and very well pitched by both kids. Martin had two errors but one was picked off 1st and the other was doubled off. Griffin was close to a perfect game and still only faced 21 batters. Stuckey looked good for his first start of the year and we were lucky to come away with the win.
Martin’s Griffin throws no-hitter Posted: Wednesday, March 26, 2008 Arlington Martin pitcher Shane Griffin pitched a complete-game no-hitter Wednesday night against Arlington Bowie. The right-handed pitcher struck out nine of the 21 batters he faced and did not allow a walk. If not for two infield errors, the 2-0 victory would have been a perfect game. It was not a bad night of pitching for Bowie, either, with starter Heath Stuckey and reliever Randy Picazo allowing only two hits and one earned run over six innings.
After giving up 8 runs in one inning against East a few weeks ago Shane has really settled down and pitched well. Since that outing he's had 3 CG shoutouts in a roll, a 2 hitter, 2 hitter and now the no hitter. We couldn't be more proud of him for all his hard work.
