Hmmm, I DO have four years of eligibility... That story is very inspirational, as is the fact that Nolan Ryan was my age when he retired, and was still throwing 90+ at the time--geez, and I hurt after throwing BP to my 12U team!
I still throw as hard as a did in college. The ball just arrives a lot later now. I run just as hard. I arrive a lot later. I swing just as hard. The ball seems to arrive sooner. But I'm out of eligibility.
Cool, he threw the last inning in last night's first college game for my son (on the opposing team).
That is a great story. But now the all important question: how hard does he throw?

My son's assessment of his pitching wasn't complimentary (is that diplomatic enough?). Of course, he's rarely willing to give the opposition their due. On a side note, he mentioned that several of the pitchers on this guy's team were throwing significant numbers of knuckleballs, though he didn't say whether the old guy did, too.
I'm with RJM. I still hit with the same power, but I live at a lower elevation and the ball doesn't carry as much.
