Snow on the ground in 49 out of 50 states. Only Hawaii escapes the white stuff. All of you people below the Mason-Dixon must be going crazy. I feel your pain. With any luck we will all be mowing grass shortly.

If it wasn't for global warming, we might be witnessing the new ice age..... 
No snow but hurricane force winds with lightening and thunder here in south Florida.
The Wolverines will be in Florida in two weeks for the Big Ten/Big East Challenge - hope the weather returns to "normal" by that time.
It was daylight when I got home tonight, the sun was out today, and "Baseball Tonight" was on this evening.... the snow and the cold will be gone soon!! 
Have to wear two pair of shorts to keep warm.

Snow on the ground in "Hotlanta." Not many outside, productive, baseball practices accomplished these first couple of weeks. Looks like the boys will be using the first few weeks of games (1st game on 25th), if played, to get in baseball shape!

Toughen Up South and West
It was 31 degrees this week in NH - a heat wave.
Our kids were outside throwing and hitting.
You get an inch of snow and it drops below 50 degrees and it brings you to your knees.
Come on up north - this weather is fun.

I look at this as "divine intervention" where the Greek God Zeus looked down on Earth and saw the injustice of the South using weather as a means to outshine the North early in the baseball season.
With a mighty heave of a lightning bolt, Zeus invoked havoc throughout North American baseball diamonds spreading a blanket of snow and ice wherever spent sunflower seeds lie. As the flurries settled, a thunderous roar from the heavens pronounced a message.

I for one refuse to toughen up! :-) I will not pay extra taxes for salt, sand, and snowplows that only get used rarely if at all over the year. I will enjoy an extra cup of coffee, and I will not shovel snow! I will wear a toboggan on my head, wrap my sneakers in bread bags, and sled on cookie sheets! Whoopie, it's snowing outside!!!!

NAH, don't believe you and just can't consider it. We do "whine" when it's cold. Must be my southwest Florida up-bringing but unless it's 85+, it's really NOT Baseball worthy weather.

For all the grief I give my Southern friends, I don't like it when they get the snow because all that means is the coldest Canadian wind digs into the Midwest. Snow is a picnic compared to frostbite.

We played our first scrimmage last week...at game time w/wind chill temp was 23 degrees...upstate SC. This ain't right! We did win 24-0...I was in the press box with the heater... 
We are such baseballaholics in our community that this little bit of "game delay" due to the snow and cold has everybody snappy! We are also dealing with flooding, which means our field is unplayable. We had to cancel our scrimmage yesterday (although they did throw bullpen and discuss game situations.)
If it were just the cold, the boys would be out there playing...WATER is our problem!

Nice one rz1. I always looked at times like these as opportunities to gain an advantage over those not willing to do just that. While they were complaining and using the weather as an excuse not to work I used it as a time to work on the things we would not want to spend alot of time on once we got on the field. And to the players "Make sure no one out works you today. While they are using this as an excuse to do nothing we will use it as a reason to work even harder."
