Somethings amiss the bracket has Lubbock Coronado F1 vs Amarillo W2 and also Lubbock Coronado R2 vs El Paso Hanks T1. in Region 1, Round 1.
Sorry MB, didn't complete my post before I posted!

Same thing?
That's Coronado's " B " team playing Hanks.
Amarillo plays El Paso Corronado
What no Division 1 or 2 brackets like football gets!
If football gets two brackets per Class, why can't every UIL sport get it as well?

we would you want d1 and d2 brackets? the playoffs are already watered down enough with out it.
I was being sarcastic. Football needs to go back to one classification per class, and have one real champion.
I would like to see them just take the top 3 in each district when you take 4 sometimes that 4th team is .500 or less
A case can be made for the way it is now or reducing the number. Personally I woould cut the original field in half. Take the top 2 from each district, start with 64 teams and get the championship game completed before school is out.

That would be even better.
On another thread I said the the UIL doesn't care about travel costs. 4 teams make the playoffs because the UIL makes more money with 4 teams in the playoffs. Not in baseball, but in football. 4 teams make the playoffs so the Football Division 1 championships go 6 weeks instead of 5.
They are not going to reduce the number of teams in the playoffs...even if they do create a 6A next realignment.
I'm not saying I agree, just sayin how it is. Oh, last year when we lost to Lubbock Monterey in the Regional Semi-Finals, we were both 4th place teams. Monterey would lose in the regional finals to Plano West, the 3rd seed from their district.

Based on the final high school coaches poll, 3 of the top 10 teams in the State didn't make it out of the first round. #2 Mission Sharyland (1 game loss to Laredo United), #4 Austin Westlake (2 games in a row to Pflugerville) and #7 New Braunfels (2 games in a row to San Antonio MacArthur) bowed out early. It just goes to show rankings don't mean squat at this point in the season.

Fixed it for you.
6 4th place teams beat 1st place teams in the 5A bracket last weekend. 6 also in the 4A bracket.
