Steven Schwartz deserves kudos and his Best Pitcher in Conference award. Saw him pitch 8 strong innings to knock out L Braddock in Districts (had a shutout through 6). Great job by new head Coach Porter and his staff in bringing Annandale back in contention.

Annandale has a great #1 pitcher - Steven Schwartz. No doubt OP will face him tomorrow.

Joey Sullivan from McLean pitched an outstanding 1 hit CG vs. Oakton. Throughout all 7 innings he was consistently sitting 90-91, hitting his spots and occasionally showing an off speed. Don't know if he's going to VT as a pitcher, IF or both, but if he works on that off speed pitch and puts on 20-25 lbs., VT will be in good shape over the next 3-4 years with him on the bump.

RJ Gaines for Oakton pitched an excellent game as well and did everything he could to keep his team in it. But the OHS bats just could not produce against Sullivan.

Big win against a very good Oakton team that seemed to "gel" about as good as any team I have seen in quite a bit.

So it's Chantilly vs. McLean for 6A North.

Talk about a team coming together and making a run: McLean coming up with a huge win last night vs. the region's favorite.

Chargers have been tough all season, and now their hitting is coming together at the right time.

Very curious how Eason Recto (CHS) and Joey Sullivan (McLean) do in the State semis.
