Just curious and I should probably know the answer. Do the districts have set guidelines on how many players make the 1st/2nd/Honorable mention teams prior to selecting? At a glance, it just seems like a lot of pitchers. I imagine that each district does it differently to recognize the deserving players? Anyone know for sure?

AC Humes was one of the best players in 8-5A. I was fortunate to have coached him when he was younger. He had the best gloove at 1B I have ever seen. A real baseball blue collar kid!

Totally agree about Humes. He is playing with me again this Summer. The best fielding 1st baseman I have ever seen. Very quick hands at the plate as well.
Remember that the district teams are based on district stats alone....and the simple facts are that kids don't generally get selected based on defensive performances -- with the exception of the defensive superlative. I am a fan of AC too but Ford had better 8-5A offensive statistics (in comparison). Congats to Adam anyway on an excellent season as a team leader for the Panthers.
