9 -4A Tiebreaker

I do not have their standings or district rules. More than likely, the original 3 way tie was for 3rd. 3rd place was decided by the 3 way tiebreaker. Then 4th place would have to be settled and since they had split games, they would have a one game playoff.

Actually the tie breaker was for the bye in a 3 way tie. That's why North and Wakeland played Saturday for a birth. Then North and Centennial flipped for seeding. They could have played it, but both coaches apparently decided beforehand they would flip following the game. They did, and Centennial won the flip giving them the 3rd seed.

Still - Centennial was in and Wakeland still had a chance. Why not Centennial in and Wakeland out??

The way I understand it, you had a three way tie for third. Due to Centennial's 3-1 record in those head to head games, they got 3rd. Then you have a 2 way tie for fourth, head to head was even, so they had a 1 game playoff for 4th.

Robert S. you are correct, but my point is after a 14 game season everyone(Cent., Wake and North) was tied. Tie breaker for the 3 teams Centennial 3 - 1 North 2 - 2 Wakeland 1 - 3. If Centennial gets in because of their 3 - 1 record why isn't Wakeland out with their 1 - 3 record. We are talking about 2 spots. Just food for thought.

It is the way that it was set up in the district minutes which took place last Spring I assume following the announcement of the new realignment. Seems strange, yes- but that's the way it was except for 1 coorection. The bye was not for automatic 3rd place for Centennial. The bye was to be in playoffs. After the game on saturday, North and Centennial coaches flipped for the seeding. That flip was won by Centennial. Thus they got the 3 seed, North the 4th.
