Amateur baseball lost a powerful and highly respected ambassador this week. Mike Spiers touched a lot of lives in baseball, including my son's. Mike was one of the best developers of talent I ever met, and through ABD he created countless opportunities for kids that loved baseball. Mike Spiers loved the game like no other. Rest in peace Mike, I'm forever thankful. http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=7926

I am very sad to hear this, I talked to Mike on and off over the years when my son was going through HS ball. My son was going to play for the ABD Bulldogs but it was too far for us and we found a more convenient program. I don't think there is another coach who has done more for developing youth baseball in Southern California. My sincere condolences to his family.
