The MLB draft is so unpredictable that a player should focus on college and playing college ball. I'm not saying that college is the only way your son should go, but by focusing on going to college, he can keep all his options open. Now, if MLB decided to draft your son, and he decides to go pro out of high school, then you have another option. Information cards are a scout's way of setting up a file on players he sees that has better than average talent or tools. It means he has your son's name, address, etc. It is nothing more than the first step a scout takes when he evaluates players. If you knew the ratio of info cards to players drafted you would realize they are not indicators of what will happen. Never set back and do nothing. Always be proactive. Recruiting is a process, not just one or two events.

croll...He's already physically big enough to do a lot of things; and, his velocity is in the "national" player category. Obviously, too, playing in New Jersey, he still has a good arm left--not overused.

I would be sure that he gets some rest between now and the PG World Wood Bat in October (or plays to keep in shape); and, be sure that he picks up and plays with a team in that late October tournament in Florida. Too, I would call Jerry and the staff at PG to get an invite to the PG National in January in Florida.

Give him a hug for his performances to-date. Tell him to keep an even keel emotionally; and, good things will happen for him.

My son is going to P in the fall so if you're not too far away next spring, stop by and say hello on one of those "at home" weekends in Jersey.
