A few weeks ago it was brought to our attention that a talented 04 outfielder from Texas had somehow "slipped through the cracks". A graduated senior with no DI offers.

We had already completed our Unsigned Senior event, so we tried to figure out the best way to help him. We thought if he played in the PG/WWBA tournament in Marietta, GA, it might open up some possibilities with colleges outside of Texas. Problem was, his summer team was not entered in the event. So we had to find a team that would pick up an outfielder from Texas.

After we struck out with many teams who were hesitant to add a last minute player to their roster, the Long Island Titans stepped up and decided to help.

This unsigned senior played for the Long Island team that won their pool and made the playoffs. In fact, he played very well, as we expected. Among the 100s of scouts and college recruiters from all over the country was Baylor's head recruiter.

We are so happy to report that this unsigned senior from Texas has signed and will report to "national power" Baylor in three weeks. Strange as it seems, it took the Texas high school kid, playing for a team from Long Island, NY in an event held in Marietta, GA and because of it, he will end up at one of the highest level DIs in the country, right in his home state of Texas.

Don't ever give up!!

PG Staff, Well done! I have a similar story. My son played for an American Legion team this summer who was giving him no playing time, which was very frustrating to say the least. He attended a showcase in late June and was picked up by a team from California to play in Marietta the following week. He had a great tournament batting close to .500 with 3 doubles and throwing 90 off the mound. He has heard from several colleges and a few MLB scouts. You really never know! Thanks for a great tourney!
