Yes sir, D-III baseball in Virginia is alive and well. Great job there Captains and Hornets, That should be some match up when those two meet up at the Port. They always play one another hard anyway.

How about it! New D3 poll released today, and Shenandoah has moved up to #1 in the country. Let's show some love for the Hornets! CNU also moved up to #5. Those two games these two are scheduled to play in a couple of weeks look like they're gonna be awesome!

That's what I'm talking about. There's some great baseball in Virginia, at any level.

Both win again; CNU is 26-1 and Shenandoah is 19-0. A combined 45-1 is just unreal.

CNU has Tufts today, a weekend series at Averett, then open until SU comes in next week . SU has non-conference games at EMC, at Lynchburg, hosts VWC and Catholic, then goes to RMC's new showcase field, with some very solid opposition in this stretch, before next weekend's series.

The level of play with D III baseball in Virginia has always been very high, but this season is just silly good.

Bumping this up as Shenandoah is now #1, Christopher Newport is #2, and they play two this weekend at Newport News in CNU's gorgeous stadium. The flowers and trees are in full bloom, should be a great crowd.

Once again two VA schools sit at the top of the DIII national poll. Shenandoah and CNU put on a great show this past weekend at CNU. Both teams split their conference series w/ SU winning on sat, and CNU winning on sun. The new poll came out this morning and SU is still #1 w/ CNU holding on to the #2 spot. Way to go. Keep representing th old VA.

I got to go see a few innings on Sunday, including a home run. Beautiful campus. Stands were full. A great baseball day overall to expose my son to some good D-III ball. We also got to see the OTHER #1 team play on Friday: #1 UVA vs Virginia Tech. VT got stomped 18-3 and I bet CNU or SU could put VT to the test (at least on that cold day...it snowed 3 times while we were there on tour).

There was a comment on another thread about what was important to look at colleges, and someone posted "cute girls". Last weekend, it was hard to not notice the VT girls in scarves and coats and the CNU girls in shorts and spaghetti straps. I kept wondering what my 17 year old thought?

Just wanted to post good news here. My son is a Freshman at Shenandoah. They won their first ever USA South Conference yesterday afternoon! GO HORNETS!

The Hornets are looking good, getting ready for the end-of-year tournaments coming up soon. Plus they remain ranked #1 nationally in the D3 poll. Coach Anderson has 'em playing well -- Go Hornets!

Atta Baby Captains-CNU wins 4 straight in the tournament, the USA South Championship, and the automatic bid to NCAA regionals although former #1 Shenandoah is a 100% lock to get a bid. CNU goes to 35-4 on the year.
