The Central Florida Renegades have many success stories of players doing well in college. But one in particular has made me so proud I want to share.

We had a young man come to us after a terrible senior year. I had seen him early and took a chance on signing him to the Central Florida Renegades. When he reached us he was not the same pitcher he was when I first saw him. He was throwing 82-83 at best and had no concept of mechanics of\r the strike zone.

But he was a great young man who wanted to learn and improve. A completely class act.

Our pitching coach Ken Craig worked hard to get him into a better pitcher. By the time Perfect Game World Wood Bat Championships came around he was throwing 89-92, but more importantly they were strikes.

In a game at Furman University the coaches from UNC-Greensboro saw him. They needed an arm and were interested.

The next week at the Perfect Game World Wood Bat Championships this young man pitched again and was dominating. UNC-Greensboro signed him to a scholarship.

Fast forward to Wednesday night. The college freshman started against William & Mary. He threw into the seventh inning - allowing one unearned run and three hits - ina 6-5 win. He notched his first career win.

There are so many people who helped him get where he is not. The Renegades and coach Craig. Perfect Game, which brought UNC-Greensboro into the area to see him at Furman and East Cobb (He was offered other scholarships at the PG event).

But this is a story of a young man who persevered even when his high school coach gave up on him. He never gave up on himself.

I'm very proud of Adam Krieger. Not because he won a game, but because of what he accomplished to win that game.
