go and find out what you have to do - like try out or what...work your tail off and if all you do is cheerlead from the bench then do it with all your heart...we have several seniors on our team this year who haven't played baseball since Babe Ruth league...I don't know how much playing time they are going to get but I give them credit for being out there and trying...good luck and keep us posted!
If it is a very small school your chances may be very good. There are many ways a player can help his team.Even if you have a weakness in some area you are sure to have a strength somewhere. If you are fast you may be very usefull as a pinch runner. There is always a need in practices and during games for an additional catcher(bull pen).A positive attitude can bring a team together like you wouldn't believe. If others see you out there practicing hard you may set that example they need to push themselves. If you dont atleast try you will always wunder (could I have made it).If nothing else you'll surely enjoy the challenge of trying.
Thanks nragarm you made me feel better party

Tryout - There are a few seniors this year that tried out for my son's team this year that played football. Did it for something to do and keep that "team thing" going before they graduated. They are having a ball, not much playing time, but they hang out with their buddies, stay in shape and once in awhile they get in to pinch hit/run (blowout games). As long as you don't go into it with great expectations and plan on having fun and see what happens then by all means do it, enjoy you last semester of high school. Good luck.

Best of luck.. Advise.. is to act like a ball player.. Hustle, run, pay attention.. Dress like a ball player.. baseball pants, shirt tucked in, hat on straight..

If you don't make the team go to the coach, explain what you told us.. its your senior year and you want to be part of a team in someway.. There are many coaches who would love to have a volunteer student keep score, help with practice, manager type of stuff.. There is more to being a part of the team than being one of the 9 on the field..

Let us know what happens
