I just want to take a moment and thank all of you who offered condolences and assistance on the passing of my Dad this past Wednesday---Dad was not only my Father but my best buddy in the world. If not for him I would not be in baseball.

He had been fighting alzheimers for better than the past 15 years. Dad was 89 and went peacefully at home with the my MOM and the live- in nurse by his side.

Again I say thanx to you all who took time to contact me. It is nice to know that I have friends/acquaintances like this.

Dad is at peace now !!!!

TR - I had no idea that your dad had passed away. I've been out of town, so perhaps I missed a post.

I remember reading many posts about your dad and admire the love and respect you always shared in your thoughts about him.

Having seen people battle alzheimers, he is truly at peace now. You, your mom and family will be in my prayers.
Folks

Just so you know nobody missed anything--I was on line in a baseball discussion when I got the news late Wednesday afternoon/early evening so I never said anything to anyone but one or two people as the past two days have been a blur with Dad being cremated this morning

That is why am saying a sincere thanx to those who offered their condolences and assistance--apparently someone told someone etc

Again thanx
Tom,

I also just learned of your father's passing, and I send my sincere condolences to you and your family.

I've heard you talk before about your closeness and your fondness for your dad, and it's heartwarming. It makes me want to call my mom, but it's pretty late, so I'll call her when I get back to town (baseball trip).

Folks, call your parents and/or hug your kids, and tell them both that you love them!

Julie
TR,

I wanted to post about your dad, but I felt it was your place to do so. As you know from our conversations earlier this week if there is anything I can do to help please let me know.

I think your dad is in a better place. The fact that he is no longer in pain and discomfort should be a relief for your and your family.

God Bless you and your family. Please send your mother my best as well.
