With all the recent discussion on college coaches, travel teams and the future of college baseball, I think it is time to hear from NY Times Sports writer.

John Goelz is a special person who happens to enjoy coaching.

Because of the 15 minute drive to SSU, I often visit the games and practices, "jive" with the pro scouts, parents and players.

Of course, everyone is younger than I, so I learn something new each day.
