To those of you who’ve prayed, and asked, here are a  recent article and broadcast piece on Jacob’s journey. He's doing great.

P.S. I can’t post this without urging parents who’ve found HSBBW since I stopped posting regularly to please, please hear my words: Don’t sweat the small stuff -- and remember: It's almost all small stuff.

JP, I've thought about Jacob and your family a lot over the last year. I'm so happy to hear the Gems welcomed him back this season. He is a very determined and grounded young man. That is a testament to his parents. Thank you for the update.

Because of your urging, my son now has a very good pair of ballistic sun glasses he wears in the outfield. They are worth every penny.

Please keep us periodically updated on Jacob's journey. I have no doubt that he will find the perfect path for his life.

Best wishes!

It's great to have an update. Just the other day I was wondering how he's doing. It is true a person's range of vision far exceeds the percentage of loss of vision. In the beginning I over compensated. I was afraid I was going to be hit by a car I didn't see stepping off the curb. Now I've adapted to the point I don't even think about my loss of vision. Your son seems to be doing fine withhis situation. With his attitude he will do well. Good luck.
