Farmer Dad,

Why don't you post this in the Texas forum?

I think you are more likely to get a response there.

Also, try to do a search on "Corpus Christi" under the find tab.

You might want to avoid the A&M part.

Anyway, there were about 300 posts that have "Corpus Christi", but not all are about the college.

Corpus Christi A&M Baseball

Head Coach Scott Malone Bio

Here's the link to their web site and to the head coach's bio, a former player at TCU five year Milb player.

Check the roster because you or your son might know someone who plays there.

I checked the roster a bit.

Not many players connected to DFW area on there.

Four junior catchers. Seems like three of them were transfers in.

That might be an opportunity or a suggestion that a juco route might be a way to get there.

Didn't see San Jacinto CC players on roster, though.

Not many high school catchers start as freshman at four year schools.

Juco, maybe.

More likely to get a full ride at juco if costs are an issue.

Lots of juco opportunities for catchers in DFW and across north central Texas and southern Oklahoma.

My son was recruited there as well, they followed him and stayed on top of his development for several years. Coach Malone has great ties to many other great programs, he is highly respected. Coach Ramirez and Coach Smith share recruiting duties, they are both "Real Guys". The campus is super nice and easy to get around. The CC area is incredible and you can see the CC Bay from anywhere on campus. They have a new baseball sports complex under construction, scheduled to be completed in 2012.

The 3 new catchers were recruited this summer, they had a real need. They play in the Southland Conference and their schedule is very, very competitive every year. Islander baseball is a strong mid-level D1 program, they do alot of good things there. They also play some of their games at Whataburger Field, the AA Hooks play there too. They are having a camp this saturday, it's a good camp. They recruit from their camps as well.

Please feel free to PM, I'll tell you about our personal experiences.
