Will there be a lot of college scouts at the jr. olympics in des monies this year. I have a really good player from RI that we hope can get some perks.

Sorry, it would be very rare to see a scout at an event that featured players 16yrs or younger. It's just too early! What "olympic" event is it that will be played in Iowa? USA Baseball calendar.
RHP - The 16U AAU Nationals are referred to as the "Junior Olympics," as I believe they are but one sport in a host of events under the AAU banner...all at the same time. A little confusing given the other event you are familiar with in Arizona and Florida.
At that age the player and parents should be concerned about improving the players game not how many scouts are in attendance.
Well the kid is a jr. in high school, that's when the scouts start looking at them. That's what some of the scouts we have talked to stated. starts in jr year of high school.
If he is a junior he should be playing "UP" and in venues where he will be seen--
16U is usuually looked at as mostly 15 year olds and this will not draw a lot a college scouts
He should be attending showcases and playing with a team that plays in "showcase" events

OTOH, we did the whole 16U high profile summer team. We were promised lots of scouts at all the college sponsored events we played in. Most of the time you could stand on 2nd base at these games, do a 360 degree spin and not see a single scout or college coach. For the most part, scouts & coaches are trailing 17 yr olds who just finished their junior year in HS.
