The caliber of play is very good (NECBL and Cape Code being outstanding).

Thanks njbb. It looks like a new league but has some big NJ area baseball people behind it, especially the state college coaches. Are they trying to become a sanctioned summer league like NECBL?

It's the Atlantic Baseball Confederation. My son played his first year there last summer as a Freshman entering. The league is run by Monique Koehler, who has done one of the best jobs I'd seen in terms of ramp up and organization. The commisioner is former Seton Hall head coach Mike Sheppard. They are looking to get sanctioned and are covered by Baseball America. She has been working hard to bring the level of competition up and get more publicity. I'm told she may make a deal with a popular sports network to get some games televised.

The games I've witnessed were competitive and the level of play above average. There are only 8 teams so far and most games are played in the shore area. Speaking of which, if you haven't ever spent a summer at the Jersey shore, you're missing something special.

Review the entire site. If you have a chance to play there........do it.

The league is ok. I coached in the ACBL and over 3 years our team was 6-0 with scrimage games against the league while throwing our 10th and 11th pitcher. The league will bring in red shirted players or players that are not impact players as of yet to play in the league. It does have some decent local players in it. It allows a few high school seniors to play in it as well or at least it did? If it keeps progressing it might someday be equal to a Valley League. Right now its a league in progression. If you cant get in a sanctioned league it would be a good option.
