My son received a large amount of academic money at two D1 colleges and has decided to go JUCO his freshman year of college.  Does his HS academic record and ACT score still qualify him to receive academic $ if he transfers/gets an offer from D1 school the following year?  Or do they only look at his JUCO academic record and not look at his previous HS academic transcripts?  Would hate for his 4.0 and high ACT that he worked so hard for go to waste and get wiped out once he goes JUCO and then transfers....Thank you!

Thank you and you are correct. When we contacted the 4 year college they confirmed that he would only be eligible for a transfer academic scholarship which is less than coming out of HS. However, if you then can add an athletic scholarship on top of that you come close to the original academic scholarship amount. But definitely worth noting and understanding the trade-offs when delaying 4 year out of HS by going JUCO.
