By CSU Sports Information

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Big South Conference announced All-Conference Honorees during the Big South Conference Tournament at McCormick Field in Asheville, North Carolina on Wednesday evening. The Honors include first and second team All-Conference Honors; Player, Pitcher, Coach and Freshman of the Year; as well as All-Academic honors to honor those athletes that excel not only on the field but in the classroom as well. Buc senior, shortstop Mark Perry, was honored as a member of the All-Academic team for 2009.

Perry has amassed a long list of academic honors in his four years at Charleston Southern including being named to the Dean’s List four times. Perry has been named a CSU Scholar Athlete seven times, and has also been named to the Presidential Honor Roll in all three previous years at CSU.

Perry has also contributed for the Buc baseball team on the field. He finished his senior campaign second on the team in batting average with a .322, while starting in all 53 games for the Buccaneers. He tallied a total of 59 hits, 27 runs, and 13 hits for extra bases including three home runs. In his 53 games, Perry tallied 16 games with multiple hits and had a season high three hits in eight separate games.

Perry has already graduated from CSU with a degree in Business with an accounting emphasis.
