UVA is still #1 in the nation in RPI.  

Still a national seed.  

They've had an incredible season.  Tough stretch of one run losses for them.

Who would have thought the ACC tourney could feature a Duke-Maryland final?  

Could happen with a Duke win over Miami.

And this is why I love baseball! Basketball and football have the same top 20 teams every year for the most part, and while baseball does too, they aren't a guaranteed winner. I love that in baseball, you just can't look past the next game or take a non powerhouse baseball school for granted. March madness is awesome, but I'll take college baseball postseason.

Pigs were getting ready to fly down in Greensboro ... but unless Duke can rally, a Duke-Maryland championship game is going to elude us.  Still, Maryland making that game in their ACC swan song is quite a story.  Kudos to two relatively new coaching staffs for some swift program turnarounds.

The ACC regular season standings were really bunched up and the big reason was that teams like Maryland, Duke and Wake Forest were all right there in the thick of things, not providing guaranteed sweep weekends as they did some years ago.

WOW, I spoke too soon!  Duke with a 2-run PH HR in the 9th to tie it up!

Well, it was a fun thought there for a while.  Duke loses 6-5 in 12.  Down 2 again in the 12th, they rally for one, get the potential tying run to 3d, only to have the HPU channel his inner Eric Gregg to end it on a called third strike that might have reached the batter's box chalk line but got no closer to the zone than that. 

Quite a game. How about that pinch hit HR with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game? It was Christian Perez's first college HR, and he's had maybe 20 at bats all season. What a moment for him. 

Being an ACC parent who is used to seeing the same teams in the running every year, this was a breath of fresh air (though I was rooting for the Tigers) to see teams Maryland and Duke get in the spotlight.

RK been thinking about your son, how are things going?

It was a great game, I watched nearly all of it.  I didn't think the Duke kid balked in the first.  I thought his stop was plenty to avoid the balk call.  I liked Pollards between inning interview where his comment was it was that kid's first balk all season.  Looks like Duke may be headed in the right direction under this new staff.

Jeff is 6 games into the season in the Frontier League. He started a bit slow, but that's not really unusual for him. The team is struggling to put runs on the board so far.

My favorite part of the ACC baseball tournament.....is the bat dog.  Her name is Lou Lou Gehrig.

Agreed.  It was the first time my daughter actually looked at the TV while I had a game on.
