We start our first game on March 22nd, but we play 26 or more games during regular season. Our Districts start the end of May.
So we get started later but play a similar amount of games. It probably means that down south the summer season starts sooner. Also there is no way we can play outside in the winter here. So they use the time as individuals to weight and agility train. I believe a lot has to do with population density. In a highly populated area, there will be more ballplayers.
