Advice for a soph.

I would think there is no harm in attending a Perfect Game ID showcase, to get you some exposure to the showcase environment, and see what it is all about. This is what we did, when we were interested to see if he could perform against better competition. After the ID showcase, I would concentrate on getting better, and hitting the BOOKS in the classroom. Seriously, there are so many opportunities for young men out there, they just can't limit their options. Work hard, and good things will happen.

IMO,playing for a strong summer travel team that competes at a high level in reputable tournaments. While playing in showcases in the near future is good for exposure, it is a different kind of game as the emphasis is more on exposure for all teammates than winning and actually playing the game, especially if you are a pitcher. It takes away a little bit of the fun and can become more like a business than a game.
