But remember kids and families.......if you had done your proper research (and had a crystal ball) you would have seen this coming! I say this in jest of course, but wow, that has to be difficult for the majority of players and families on that team.
Sometimes I start to think the pendulum has swung too far when it relates to the transfer portal, and then something like this happens.

Beal was fired from Ohio State then took the Akron job. I think he made out better going to Marshall, which probably was a done deal months ago.

Then in Sept. 2017 they announced baseball would be back for spring 2020, they struggled in 2020 (covid), 2021, and 2022. I wonder if this means they are going to cut the program again?

This is why I'll rarely bash a kid who enters the transfer portal. Coaches can't have it both ways.

D1Baseball has an article regarding the hiring of Beals. Seems like the move to the Big South and a new facility created much interest.
Akron hired one of their assistant coaches as HC for the 2023 season.
Marshall is rich in tradition and history in basketball and football and building a national soccer power the last few years but have struggled to build the baseball program. My son was in the portal and was offered at Marshall, but the facilities they had would have had him playing on a field with no lights where he practiced and played travel ball in middle school 30 minutes from campus. Program has a long way to go but the sunbelt certainly could be the way to start the journey,
