Ok, we all know about the Alaskan baseball leagues but I need help here from anybody that may have some info on youth baseball in Alaska. I am moving to Alaska in May and need any info on baseball teams for my 14 year old freshman? He is 190 5'9 and plays 1st,catches,3rd,and pitches. He won 13U home run derby for AZ all stars before world series. He may play varsity this year as a freshman. Anybody know of any travel teams there or connections that could help? Due to moving to Alaska I will be showcasing him a little early at the PG Ca.underclass on Jan 15 in San Bernardino before with go to no mans land. Please Help?

When I first read jemaz's response, I laughed a little. But after more thought, and not knowing your reasons for moving...is there a relative he can live with in AZ?

I mean, you'd really have to think he's pretty good and has some future potential that moving to Alaska might inhibit.

On the other hand, I hear AK has a pretty significant summer collegiate league. Maybe there really is some good HS ball during that short summer as well.

I lived in Anchorage for a time but I was only in first grade so I don't know much more about youth sports there.
I have to move for employment. I may have to find Jr a place to stay in Az. But crutial to keep him focused on academics. He has a tendency to get hooked on xbox and less on classes. So far he has keeped up with the 4.0 route the other 3 children have had. But we really have to ride him to focus. He has a ton of talent and has been growing in to a solid frame. He may take up football up there if baseball is weak gut baseball is his passion. Need more help please to find a baseball program in AK? Cmon Alaska posters! Where are you?
I am not sure that you will find many that come from Alaska that can give you first hand information. Not sure why you didn't consider the options before you decided to move, though I do understand it was for employment purposes.

I am not into the whining, you need to take some lessons from Krak, whose son attended HS in South Korea but still managed to get a college scholarship. The way I see it, anything is possible but you have to seek the solutions on your own, sometimes.

Good suggestion above, make arrangements for your son to play in the states during summertime.
