Tonight I watched one of the most awesome high school baseball games I have ever witnessed. Alcoa beat Loudon 1-0 in 14 innings. Alcoa advances to sub-state (sectional) for the FIRST time in school history!
I am so drained I don't know much about the game. Aaron Everette started for Loudon and pitched 10 innings. Lord, that boy can throw the pill! I don't know how many k's he had, but he had a lot! Joey McCown went 9 for Alcoa, had 12 or 13 k's. Thompson (Loudon) and Benny Fuller (Alcoa) came on in relief. Both of these guys threw EXTREMELY well. I'm sure there will be a nice writeup in thedailytimes.com if the reporter could get it posted in time. This was certainly a marathon. I just wanted to post and say that both of these teams played a heck of a game and we are really proud of our Tornados!
Either you were there or someone close was there. Some of the parents were ready to "storm the press box" over that faux pas.
