I took my son to an All-American Talent Showcase about five or six years ago, when he was fourteen. I think he was the youngest player at the showcase. At that time it was called Griffey International All-American Talent Showcase. It was a pay–to-showcase event which means just about anyone wanting to pay the entry fee could showcase. At the time, that is what we wanted because he couldn’t have gotten a recommendation. I still thought there was some good talent and I thought it was very well organized. I talked to Joe Barth on the phone and he delivered what he said he would. No complaints there. Understand too that I had just gotten into the “discovery mode” of my son’s talent. We were not trying to use this showcase as a launching pad for my son’s college baseball career, but more to get other people’s opinions and to see how he stacked up against other players. I wanted to get him some experience showcasing his skills and I wanted to educate myself on the process too. It served our purpose. I thought the evaluation we received in the mail was fair and accurate. It was not well attended by scouts and college coaches (maybe ten total) but they did send their evaluations to numerous colleges. It did generate a lot of mail from colleges so I would have to say it opened some doors.
Things may have changed in the past six years or your requirements may be totally different from ours. I don’t know.
Best of luck,

I agree with Fungo...when we went it was called Joe Barth's showcase. Not well attended by coaches except for those guys that called certain schools. But it was our first, like Fungo and we learned alot. Alot of drills were tested beyond the 60 yd time. Good evaluation and they did send out the letters and eval's to schools. And as Fungo said, it generated good responses. Good showcase to start out with.
