Can someone explain to me how a kid can hit in every game that he played, switch hit with a batting average of 439 and hit 2 homeruns and play the defense that he did and not be selected to the all beach team. It should not matter whether you are a sophomore, junior or senior if you are the best you should be recognized! I am talking about Beemer Weems. Not to take anything away from who was selected, but Beemer's stats speak for themselves. Very politcal in my eyes!!!

*THERE ARE A COUPLE MORE NON-SENIORS ON THE TEAM THIS YEAR THAN LAST. LAST YEAR DAVID HEWITT, AS A SOPH, WAS THE ONLY NON-SENIOR ON THE TEAM. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF HEWITT GOT ANY RECOGNITION. I SAW HIM PITCH AND HE LOOKED GOOD..WHY ISN'T HE ON THE TEAM? DID HE HAVE A BAD SEASON ALL IN ALL?...ANYWAYS.. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE PLAYERS SELECTED FOR THE TEAM! A GREAT BUT STRANGE SEASON.

luvthgame,
03 Co-Beach players of the year:
David Winfree/FC & Phil Lawhorn /Salem

David was Drafted by the Minnesota Twins

Phillip played JUCO in Florida; his Team was projected to finish 6th in the tough six-team Panhandle Conference. They finished Runner-up; two games back. They won the Florida Junior College State Championship. The team is in Grand Junction Colorado preparing for the JUCO D1 World Series (first game tomorrow at 0900).

Phillip was named to the 2nd Team All Conference as a Pitcher. He is their Closer.
philly fan,

Phillip is working on his Associates and has not decided on a magor.

Currently, he has received serious interest from top SEC schools with strong baseball programs. His pitching is what will attract
the most attention. But with an offer for the oppourtunity to play a position now/then and pitch; he would like that. The chance to play closer to home would also be inticing.
