My son plays for Cosby and though he did not have a stellar year and I don't expect to see his name on the list, some of your players obviously did. I haven't seen a thing that includes all conference teams for any of the schools in Chesterfield.  I seem to remember that those named were included on playoff programs.  I am particularly interested in a couple JR players that have really stepped up and led them this season.  They deserve the honors.  Any with any info?

MoxiRoxi,

You bring up a good question.  With the new VHSL alignment, how & when do they choose the all conference teams?

I doubt you will see anything that is labeled "all conference teams for chesterfield" but probably by conference 6A, 5A, 4A, etc...  Just my best guess, and probably won't happen until after this weeks conference playoff as the teams move into the next round with conference 1,2,3 & 4 for 6A South for example. My understanding is two teams move onto the next round, and you can expect they will have the bulk of the conference honors if previous history (former Dominion District) is any indicator.  BTW...Go Titans!

Thanks!  I guessed they would be listed out by the new conferences but was just curious that I had seen none.  We hosting the district playoffs last year and it was in the program so I know last year it was done after the regular season.  After the district playoffs the regional teams were named heading into regionals.  My son was honorable mention so I remember that for sure and I think they went from there.  I thought all conference honors were based on regular season and so on.  Oh well, I guess I will hear when something happens.  Another player told my son his guess was they were voting over the holiday weekend but I guess that was not accurate info.

My guess is that coaches and therefore, individual players have gotten the word as to their individual honors.  Not sure when the official releases are set, but I would think it'd be done by the end of the conference round if not sooner.

I suspect Cosby will dominate its conference and region lists and have a few candidates for all state honors.  They were known to be loaded when the season started, but the team met or exceeded expectations in every phase of the game.  Right now they are in a class by themselves and I should think are the odds-on favorite to win the 6A state title, especially since they have 2 top quality starting pitchers and a handful of very capable additional arms as well.  I don't see how anyone could hope to outscore them right now.  They had a few low-run victories early on but lately they are just absolutely pummeling people.
