OK, nobody wants to take a shot I will.
Disclaimer, I haven't seen every team and I don't know a lot of kids, so this is my uninformed best shot.

Catcher: Nykoli Ellis Grassfield
Solid as a rock. Seems like he's been catching there since Truman was president.

Pitchers:
Nick Thompson
Andrew Flagherty
almost impossible to pick just two, but the top 2 teams top 2 pitchers get the nod

First Base:
Tyler Lighton Hickory
came back from injury to hit over 400. There's a lot of players I don't know who may be a better choice. He just edges out McAndrews of WB (see DH Choice)

Second Base: Hunter Higgerson GB
Had a great year

Shortstop: J Lee GB
toss up, WB has 2 contenders (Donavon and Thompson) Hickory's Campbell, NR has a great SS, Kam Stewert DC. Almost impossible to pick just one. I know I'm missing others

Third:
Really like the kid fron NR, don't know his name.

OF: Brooks WB
C Cody GB
?????
Utility: Kam Stewert DC
Played his tail off. On a better team he'd be a star. Deserves the recognition. Travis Cherry KF a second choice, same reason

DH: Could be Lighton and that would open up another spot for a first baseman, otherwise I don't know.

POY: Has to be Thompson

Coach of Year, W Lee, best prepared team in the state every year
Here is my stab at it:

POY - Thompson, WB

P - Ingraham, GF
P - Flaherty, GB
C - Ellis, GF
1B - Lighton, H or McAndrews, WB or Johnson, NR
2B - Higgerson, GB (or Best, H)
SS - Lee, GB (or Campbell, H or Lowe, NR)
3B - Doggett, WB
OF - Cody, GB
OF - Brooks, WB
OF - Moore, NR
UT - Thompson, WB
DH - Stewart, DC or Lowe, NR or Beard, GB
I agree for the most part with what redbird has with a few exceptions. I think Lee should be at second and Campbell at shortstop. I dont know his statistics but maybe Tim Brock from Oscar Smith at third base. And for POY I'm stuck between Thompson and Flaherty. Thompson has pitched great and swung a hot bat, but at the same time Flaherty has been great in all of the big games he has thrown for Great Bridge. I agree with Pilots81, Beard should get some consideration. No matter who ends up where, that is going to be an all-district team that in my opinion will be the best in the eastern region.
With almost all district games complete, my picks are:

Pitcher - Thompson (has beaten Grassfield, Great Bridge, Hickory and Nansemond River)

Pitcher - Flaherty or Ingraham (difficult choice, do you want wins or ERA; current format leaves one of the top pitchers out of deserving district honors)

Catcher - Ellis or Cassidy or ?

First Base - McAndrews (boy can pick it)

Second Base - Higgerson (can hit and field, and my sleeper pick last year)

Shortstop - Thompson (best fielder and hitter among district shortstops)

Third base - not certain

Outfield - Beard, Brooks and Moore (again, silly format leaves other qualified candidates in the cold)

DH - a qualified hitter who does not fit another category

Utility - Cam Stewart (good spot for a player who plays infield, outfield and pitcher but does not fit another category)

POY - Thompson

COY - uncertain (do you pick Lee or Wright who coached up the district's top two teams or someone who did better than expected with less material?)

El Gato, You left ??? for 3rd base. There are a number of good third basemen in the SED from which to choose. As I personally enjoy good defensive plays as much as any part of baseball, I would favor the third baseman who handles that hot spot well, not only making the routine plays but making the extraordinary plays. Three players come to mind. Brandon Doggett of Western Branch has made a number of great plays, particularly dealing with the slow roller well. Jordan Miller, of Grassfield, handles the "too hot to handle ball" well. At WB's home game with Grassfield, Miller made three REALLY GOOD (and important)plays and I have seen him make them in other games. Finally, I have observed Charlie Cody, a freshman with Great Bridge, make some very nice plays from third, particularly the "behind-the-bag" plays with a strong throw to first.

WB, good suggestions. Still prefer naming 12-15 players without positions and thereby avoid duplication but maximize number of players honored. Know that won't happen but I can still dream!

Remember to be eligible for all regional or all state honors you must be named all district at that position. To change that you must start at the state level.
