All-Star Weekend

Can someone explain to me the All-Star game which is taking place at Chantilly HS tomorrow night? I was obviously under the mistaken impression in the past that it was seniors from schools in the eastern part of Virginia taking on seniors from schools in the western part of Virginia - hence East Team and West team. I was looking over the roster of the East team and it appears that every player (except 2) is from a school in the Northern Region and those 2 are from schools in the Northwest region. Of those names mentioned on the West team, they appear to be from mainly schools in the Northwest Region. Do the Central and Eastern Regions not participate in this event?

If this is the same VHSL all star game you are referring to and I am thinking about, I know that in the past (only 3- 5 years ago), it was held at Nansemond River HS and all the players stayed for a night or two at Hampton University while they practiced. The organinzers put on a pretty good couple of days for the kids acutally. Again, if its the same, I'm not sure when it changed venue.

This game is run by Gameday Magazine. It is the second year they have put it on. You can watch at gamedaymagazine.com. Game is at 7 on Friday. Home run contest is at 4:30 today.

This is just an All Star game that was started by a couple of Northern and SOME of the Northwest region High Schools. Not all of the Northwest region Schools are involved in this, just Prince William County High Schools. This also is only their 2nd year for this All Star game and as Double Works said is sponsored by Gameday not VHSL.
