Is anyone familiar with Alternative Baseball Organization? I received a news release from them today pitching a story on trying to get a team going in my town. I thought I would turn to a neutral third party to see if anyone can tell me that they are legitimate and effective before I publicize to my community.

It says it's baseball geared at people 15 and older with autism and other disabilities.

Even if legit, they may be looking for a community bigger than mine, so whatever you can tell me would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Alternative Baseball currently has programs (and new ones starting up) in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Washington. Registration in Canada is currently pending.

They use a slightly larger, softer ball.
