I find it somewhat amazing yhat with the storied history of th NY Yankees and their players that Derek Jeter will be thfirst to get to the 30000 hit mark

I agree, he will never get to 30000! It is kind of amazing though that he would be the first in franchise history to get to just 3000 hits. At that, it looks as if he may back into the milestone during his downhill slide toward retirement?

I think that is the case with anyone in the club - most reached when in their late 30's to early 40's.
