The majority of the college coaches in VA and some in surrounding states have been notified about the new site for VA American Legion Baseball.

Also, VAPREPS will be sending out an annoucement at the end of May to their list of just over 200 contacts for newspaper, radio and TV in VA introducing them to the site.

FYI ... look for much improved coverage of American Legion Baseball via your local newspaper and local TV stations. Just about every news media group in VA has been contacted about the new site for American Legion Baseball and they will be following your team, just a few clicks away.

I'm not overly familiar with Legion baseball....do they use wood or aluminum? Is there a defined territory or a defined group of high schools that they can pull from, or would a kid that lived in Richmond, for example, just try out for whichever team he preferred? Are most of the coaches high school coaches or no?

They use aluminum, teams pull from designated schools but there are exceptions. For instance Post 284 Bucs pulls from Colonial Heights, Matoaca, Dinwiddie and college freshman young enough to play. I think the college kids are still linked to the HS's they played with, but I could be wrong and like I said there are exceptions.

The college guys ARE still tied to their HS...and cannot turn 19 before Jan 1 in order to be eligible.

College kids are linked to their high school.

Any players cannot turn 20 during the year of 2007, if he turns 20 from Jan 1 - Dec 31 of 2007, he cannot play.

Hey Coach milburn why is it only 12-14 games for some teams.Doesnt every 1 play every 1 4 times.

I would assume that because the COACH or TEAM STATISTICAN has not entered their complete schedule of games yet.

The Digitalsports system will "double-book" district games only, meaning when TEAM A schedules a game with TEAM B, the game will appear on TEAM B's schedule but was entered on TEAM A's site.

It's up to each team to keep their site updated.

Contact the coach and ask why its not current.

... unfortunately, District 9-West and District 9-East, some of the coaches are dragging their feet in keeping their respective site current.

ok.i think we use to play lynchburg when my brother was playing for 280 chesapeake.my brother is a coach for 280 indian river.but he went out of town.so was wondering if u were in our district.
